Lives Lost to COVID: A Public Mourning

Lives Lost to COVID: a public mourning

Sat., Oct. 23, 2021
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Saskatchewan Legislative Building
2405 Legislative Drive, Regina, SK [map]

It’s past time we come together and share our collective grief over so many needless losses to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Concerned Citizens for Action Against Covid has heard the overwhelming need of our Saskatchewan community to have a visual acknowledgement and public mourning that recognizes the enormity of our losses and the cause of our losses.

We invite the public to come together for this commemorative program and the accompanying launch of a provincial White Flag campaign*.

The program will be held in front of our Legislature Building, and then proceed to the Queen E. II East garden where crosses and flags give a visual representation of the enormity of our loss.

As the last crosses and markers are placed we invite you to spend time in contemplation, place flowers, tie notes to the crosses.

The poignancy of the contrast from individual wooden crosses to plain white flags will show the rapid progress of this healthcare disaster in which our loved ones went from individuals to overwhelming statistics.

WHITE FLAG CAMPAIGN: details to followCCFCA is grateful to collaborate with Clinton Ackerman, whose wooden crosses were displayed in front of the Ledge earlier this week.

Masking and social distancing
(staying 2m/6ft apart from people you didn’t come with) are mandatory at this event.
